The cofinite regularity spectrum of $F$-irregular graphs
For a graph $F$, the $F$-degree of a vertex counts the copies of $F$ containing it, without requiring the copies to be induced. We determine the eventual regularity spectrum of connected patterns of order at least three: stars admit no regular $F$-irregular hosts, whereas every non-star $F$ admits a connected $r$-regular $F$-irregular host for every sufficiently large integer $r$. These hosts can be chosen to have diameter two and $r+o(r)$ vertices, asymptotically optimal to first order. The construction uses complements of sparse layered regular graphs. Rooted-homomorphism localization and quotient expansion isolate the leading contributions to $F$-degree differences; spectral amplification separates competing terms, and a scale-preserving choice of mixed-radix parameters realizes each prescribed regularity.

Theorem 5.2: Rooted localization
Fix regular seed alphabets with orders $2\le n_i\le n_{\max}$ and degrees independent of color at each position. Suppose each proper connection level $a<P$ carries at most $M_*$ generators; the number at level $P$ is unrestricted. Let $v,w$ be roots of an auxiliary graph $R$ from \hyperref[sec:wiring]{Section reference}, with highest unequal coordinate $\istar$, and set $u=q_{\istar}$. For any fixed connected rooted graph $(H,a)$ of order $h_H$: \item if $H$ is a tree, $\Hom_v(H,a;R)=\Hom_w(H,a;R)$; \item if $H$ contains a cycle, then |\Delta\Hom(H,a;R)| \le C_{H,M_*}\omega^{h_H-g(H)}u^{g(H)-1}. The constant may depend on the fixed alphabets, $H$ and $M_*$, but not on $P,\ell$, the selected generators or the roots.

Let $F$ be a finite, simple, connected graph with at least three vertices. If $F$ is a star, then $\Spec(F)=\varnothing$. Otherwise there exists an integer $r_F$ such that for \emph{every} integer $r\ge r_F$ there is a finite simple connected $r$-regular $F$-irregular graph $G_r$ of diameter exactly two. Moreover, the hosts can be chosen so that $|V(G_r)|/r\to1$ as $r\to\infty$.

A finite connected graph $F$ of order at least three admits a connected regular $F$-irregular host if and only if $F$ is not a star. In the non-star case there are infinitely many such hosts of odd regularity and infinitely many of even regularity, each of diameter two.

Let $H$ be the quotient component containing the distinguished root. If $H$ has a cycle, choose an integer $q$ with $3\le q\le g(H)$. Let $R$ be an auxiliary graph constructed in \hyperref[sec:wiring]{Section reference}, and let $D_i$ be the suffix degree in Eq. (equation reference). Define the matrix $\mathcal B_i$ on $\Gamma\times[n_i]$ by \mathcal B_i=D_iI+q_i\diag_{e\in\Gamma}(A_{S_{i,\chi_i(e)}}) +\sum_{s:a_s\le i}q_{a_s}(T_s\otimes I_{n_i}). For every positive integer $t$ and every two roots $(e,x),(f,y)$ of $R$, \Delta z_t^R =\sum_{i=0}^{P-1}\frac1{q_i} \bigl[(\mathcal B_i^t)_{(e,x_i),(e,x_i)}-(\mathcal B_i^t)_{(f,y_i),(f,y_i)}\bigr].
